Emergency 911 Service VOIP PC To Phone and broadband Phone

The safety of our members is important, and we have built a network that provides VoIP industry-leading 911 technology.
With E911, your call is routed to the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) supporting the service address you registered with your account. The emergency operator receives the name, address, and origination phone number of the caller. With this service, the caller does not need to verbally give their location to the operator.
While E911 is the most advanced form of emergency dialing service available, there are some limitations when it is provided by a VoIP provider . Therefore, you should always have an alternative means of accessing emergency service.

In most cases, your E911 service should function properly soon after you activate your account, but in some cases it may take an additional working day to ensure that 911 calls are being routed with the correct address information to the emergency dispatch center that serves your location.

The services are portable to any location with broadband Internet access. If you travel, you can take your PC To Phone equipment with you and your service will work in any location with broadband Internet access. However, do NOT dial 911 whenever using your VOIP equipment in a location other than the service address you registered with your account, since emergency service will not be properly dispatched.

If you move or intend to use your services away from home for an extended period of time, you must update your new location in the Member Center in order for 911 to function properly. Remember, it may take up to a full working day for this change to be completed, and you should always maintain an alternative means of accessing emergency service

LIMITATIONS OF EMERGENCY 911 SERVICES

E911 is available only if you have an inbound phone number and have the ability to make outbound calls, and use your service in the United States.
E911 is not currently available in all geographical areas of the United States. If you want to use your service in an unsupported E911 area, we will only be able to provide you with outbound service.
E911 will not function in the event of a power outage, or if your broadband, ISP, or other services are suspended or terminated. In addition, in the event of a local disaster, there is a greater possibility that an E911 call will produce a busy signal, fail to be completed, or experience long connection times due to network congestion.
Because of the time it takes to properly update the E911 emergency databases, your E911 service may not be available immediately. E911 may not function properly for up to one day after you are able to make outbound calls with your services.
Unlike traditional phone lines, you can usePC TO PHONE anywhere. Our service is portable to any location with broadband Internet access. When you move or travel, you must update your new address in the Member Center in order to receive E911 service.

E911 is perhaps one of the most visible concerns about VoIP, and one that the average user will understand. One would be hard-put to find VoIP providers who are not trying to come up with some solution in this arena, for regulatory as well as legal reasons. The market will drive this as much as any threat of regulation--the first providers to reliably deliver E911 service will see commensurate reward, and any vendor eventually left without that service will become a second-rate system.
